奥地利科学家在最新一期《自然·材料学》杂志上撰文指出,他们在实验室大量合成出有史以来最长的稳定线性碳链,其由6000多个碳原子组成,或有助最终批量制造出目前已知的最硬的物质——碳炔。1885年,德国有机化学家阿道夫·冯-贝耶尔首次提出碳炔的概念,他将其描述为一种无限长的碳碳单键和三键交替而成的碳链。但他也警告称,由于其极不稳定,因此很难制造出来。
