本文从系统功能视角研究了新闻话语的主观性。关于此领域的早期研究主要集中在三个方面：说话人的视角、说话人的情感、说话人的情态。一些系统功能语言学家、认知语言学家和语用学家已经对此领域研究作出了贡献，但是他们的研究大多局限于文学话语。因此，对非文学话语的主观性研究仍有较大空白。韩礼德的系统功能语法和人际意义理论将成为本文的重要理论基础。
